FLINT, Mich. – Collage.com, a Michigan-based custom photo products company, today announced its donation of $50,000 to the Flint Kids Fund of the Community Foundation of Greater Flint. This builds on a $5,015 donation Collage.com made to the program in 2016 immediately following the Flint water disaster.
“Exposure to lead contamination is an often-overlooked racial justice issue with lifelong consequences,” said Joe Golden, co-founder and co-CEO of Collage.com. “As a Michigan company, we are particularly concerned about the situation faced by Flint children and wanted to renew our commitment to supporting them.”
Gifts to the Flint Fund are used to support positive outcomes for Flint children, including child health and development, educational and student support services. A dashboard tracking the situation in Flint and the efforts of the Flint Kids Fund can be found at stateofflintkids.com
“The trauma of the Flint water crisis requires long-term recovery grounded in the science of child development,” said Isaiah Oliver, president and CEO, Community Foundation of Greater Flint. “Collage.com’s gift today helps ensure a more promising future for Flint children who were exposed to a toxic chemical in their drinking water.”
The Flint Kids Fund is still accepting contributions at FlintKids.org. All donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law, and go directly to the Flint Child Health and Development Fund of the Community Foundation of Greater Flint.
